Background

Establishment History

  • September 2000: The faculty began as the Department of Information Technology and Multimedia (JTMM), part of the Faculty of Engineering Technology at Kolej Universiti Tun Hussein Onn (KUiTTHO).

  • May 2004: JTMM was elevated to the Faculty of Information Technology and Multimedia (FTMM), operating at the Parit Raja City Campus in Batu Pahat, Johor.

  • August 24, 2010: The faculty was rebranded to its current name, the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FSKTM). This rebranding also led to the creation of four new departments:

    • Department of Software Engineering

    • Department of Multimedia

    • Department of Information Security and Web Technology

    • Department of Post-Graduate

FSKTM offers a variety of programmes at both the bachelor’s and postgraduate levels.

    • Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering) with Honours

  • Postgraduate Programmes:

    • Master of Information Technology by Coursework

    • Master of Computer Science (Software Engineering) by Mixed-Mode

    • Master of Computer Science (Information Security) by Mixed-Mode

    • Master of Information Technology by Research

    • Doctor of Philosophy in Information Technology

The faculty’s goal is to provide programmes and conduct research that support the vision and mission of the university and meet the needs of the nation. It aims to produce skilled professionals in various fields of computer science and information technology to serve both local and international industries.
