International Students Entry Requirements

General Requirements

The general academic requirements for admission into the undergraduate degree program of UTHM are:

    • 1.

      At least three (3) principal passes in the General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced level’
      (GCE) ‘A’ Level Examination (UK Educational System) obtained in one sitting;
      OR

    • 2.

      International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum of six (6) subjects obtained in one sitting;
      OR

    • 3.

      A Diploma or any other Equivalent Qualification recognized by the Government of Malaysia
      and approved by the Senate of the University;
      OR

    • 4.

      Any other qualifications that are recognized by the Senate of the University as equivalent to
      the above.

    • AND

    • 5.

      English Proficiency Level of either IELTS (4.5) / TOEFL (33/6.5) / MUET (Band 3) / PTE (43)/
      Cambridge English Qualifications and Tests (147) / Certified Intensive Programme (CIEP-ELS)
      (106).

    • AND

    • 6.

      The qualification and entry requirements for the programs will be determined based on
      the “THE LIST OF ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT” published by
      Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).

    Bachelor of Information Technology with Honours (BIT)

    Applicants must have the following subjects taken at the ‘A’ level, IB or any other equivalent certificates
    examinations and obtain:

    1. A minimum grade C in Mathematics; AND
    2. A minimum pass in English Language subject.

    Note:-

    University will determine the merit and suitability of the applicant’s academic grades received from
    home country.

    University reserves the right to offer English proficiency subject if student does not meet IELTS or its equivalent requirement.

    University reserves the right to determine an alternative relevant subject to Mathematics in the case
    where the applicant has not taken the subject in his/her examinations.

    The applicant must be physically able to do laboratory work.
